Let’s talk about SEND in Kingston
Overview
We want to hear from children and young people with SEND (Special educational needs and disability) and their parents and carers, about the services that are helping families - and where things need to improve.
Your views matter. When we last asked for feedback in 2023, your responses shaped real changes to the way SEND services are delivered. We shared the results through our You Said, We Did summary to show how your input made a difference.
Now, we’re asking again — to make sure our services continue to meet the needs of children, young people, and families across Kingston.
Why your feedback is important
- We are updating our SEND Local Area Self-Evaluation, which is a review of how all SEND services — from education and health to social care and community support — are working in Kingston.
- This work will help Kingston Council, the Integrated Care Board, and Achieving for Children understand where improvements are needed and where to focus joint efforts.
- Your feedback will also support preparations for a forthcoming inspection of SEND services by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission.
How you can get involved
We are running a range of engagement activities this summer to gather feedback from children, young people, and parents/carers, including:
- Online surveys
- Focus groups and engagement sessions — both in-person and online
