Children's play space in Canbury Gardens
Overview
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving and enhancing our green spaces, we are investing in a brand-new play area for children in Canbury Gardens. This exciting development will greatly enhance play opportunities, offering a range of equipment designed for children of all ages and abilities.
We’ve listened carefully to your feedback on the two initial design concepts for the new play space for older children. The aim of this early engagement was to share our initial ideas and better understand the needs and preferences of our community. Based on your input, we’ve refined the concept designs to reflect what matters most to you.

We want to design this brand new play space together with the community. Please share your thoughts on design concept for the new playground, which is proposed to be built near to the existing playground and near the tennis courts. Your feedback will play an important role in ensuring that, wherever possible, the final space reflects the needs, preferences, and aspirations of those who will use it most.

Come along to our in-person event
We’re also hosting an event on 20 November 2025, 3.30pm to 6.30pm at the Canbury Pavilion, Canbury Gardens, 50 Lower Ham Road, Kingston, KT2 5AW, where you can find out more about the revised plans and give your feedback in person.
Once this engagement closes, the team will consider all feedback received and shape the design. It is hoped that the new play space will open in early summer 2026.
