Hunters Road Improvements

We have carefully developed some proposals to address concerns regarding the mini-roundabout at the junction between Hunters Road and Fullers Way South. The aim is to enhance safety and improve traffic management in the area.

There have been ongoing concerns raised by residents and councillors about the roundabout, including safety issues with speeding vehicles and vehicles over-running the roundabout. We have therefore developed some proposals to try and address these issues:

• New speed humps to slow traffic down as they approach the mini-roundabout from each direction
• New tactile paving outside 36 Hunters Road to enable people to cross the road safely
• Extending the existing double yellow lines on Hunters Road, between Gosbury Hill and Grange Road, in front of the even numbered properties, to prevent parking on both sides of the road and ensure emergency vehicle access
• New double yellow lines from outside 53/55 Hunters Road to outside 65/67 Hunters Road, to avoid dangerous parking at the junction. 

To accommodate the changes these plans would remove:

• The existing speed hump near the junction on Fullers Way South  
• The existing traffic island outside 36 Hunters Road.

The proposed plans will reduce parking capacity on Hunters Road. The proposals have been developed to balance the needs of residents with the need to ensure safe streets for all users.
