Draft Commitments

Please read the following draft commitments and then rank them in order by importance for you.

Draft Commitment 1

We are committed to deeply understanding the needs and experiences of our communities and working together to make change.

We will do this by:

  • Collaborating to collect, analyse, share and use data across the council and with partners
  • Being led by our community and partners to understand unmet needs and to meaningfully engage and communicate
  • Implement change using insights from complaints, compliments and member enquiries
Draft Commitment 2

We are committed to tailoring our approaches to meet the needs and address gaps for all our communities

We will do this by:

  • Thinking creatively and utilising new tools to overcome challenges that enable access to services when they are needed 
  • Evidencing how our services and policies identify need and reduce inequality 
  • Working closely with our partners to share insights, meet community needs and build resilience
  • Focusing on tackling poverty and socio-economic inequality in the borough
Draft Commitment 3

We are committed to being a proudly diverse borough which is accessible and safe

We will do this by:

  • Focusing on community cohesion alongside our partners to bring communities together, tackling discrimination, harassment and hate crime 
  • Ensuring accessibility and community needs are key priorities when designing and delivering our physical and digital infrastructure
  • Coming together to celebrate communities, heritage and achievements
