You said
Council officers and Councillors listened to residents' concerns about inconsiderate use and road obstructions by large vehicles in the area around Rhodrons Avenue.
We did
Designs were considered to alleviate the issue of inconsiderate use by large vehicles.
The designs were then assessed for impact and an Experimental Traffic Order (ETMO) was implemented that restricted vehicles over 3.5 Tonne from using Rhodrons Avenue, Moorfield Road, Sherborne Road and Meadow Way, operating from Monday to Saturday, 7pm -7am, except for access.
Following statutory consultation, 50 responses were received and analysed;
- 98% of respondents were residents
- 56% of respondents had concerns about emergency vehicle access
- 40% of respondents had issues with their driveways being blocked
Overall 72% of respondents supported the implementation of the Experimental Traffic Order
Therefore the Traffic Management Order (TMO) for the restriction to stay in place was agreed by the Committee.
Impacts on the surrounding area will be assessed by the South of the Borough Committee in June 2026
