Toby Way Permit Parking Area

Closed 10 Mar 2024

Opened 21 Feb 2024

Overview

We want everyone to feel our streets are spaces where they can breathe clean air, walk safely and feel connected to the local community. Parking management in our neighbourhoods ensures streets are safer for all users, help residents and visitors have fair access to parking and can reduce congestion.

In response to the work that local councillors and highways officers have been doing with residents of Dean and Drayton Court regarding parking, we are seeking your input on introducing a Permit Parking Area (PPA) in Toby Way.

The development of Signal Park and Lansdowne Close bring with them the potential for increased demand for parking spaces in the area. Following discussion with local residents, the introduction of a Permit Parking Area (PPA) is being considered as a proactive measure to address parking concerns.

We want to hear your views on how you find the existing parking situation in the roads near your home and if you feel there is a need for the scheme.

It is proposed that the Permit Parking Area would operate between 8am and 5.30pm, from Monday to Saturday. It is expected that this would significantly reduce all day commuter parking from passengers using Tolworth Station.

Parking permits are intended to help residents and their guests to find parking during the days and times of operation. As a guide the current cost (February 2024) for a 12 month resident permit is £102. Resident and business permits would be available for varying periods. If you need any more information, need help accessing any of the materials or  need help responding to our survey questions, please contact us by emailing streetspace@kingston.gov.uk, or calling on 0208 547 5000 and asking for a call back from the Highways Commissioning and Engagement team.

We will review all of the feedback and survey results. We will discuss these results  with local councillors, and prepare a report with recommendations for the next steps for consideration at South of the Borough Neighbourhood Committee on 27 March.

Why your views matter

We want to understand your views as a local resident on the parking situation on your road. By sharing your feedback you are helping to inform the next steps for developing the preferred scheme.
