Thank you for your feedback. Over 70 people came to our in-person sessions to give us their views on the plans for Blagdon Road Open Space, England Way Playground and Donald Wood Playground. Many others shared their views via the survey on Let's Talk.
Our contractor is now finalising designs, taking into account the feedback we received with work due to start in the parks, in late February 2024.
Overview
As part of our ongoing work to improve and enhance our green spaces, we're investing £1.3million in our borough's parks. So far, through our Community Parks Programme we have delivered a range of improvement works including footpath resurfacing, playground makeovers and the installation of outdoor gyms in eight green spaces across the borough.
We are delighted to announce our plans to transform three additional playgrounds: Blagdon Road Open Space, England Way Playground in New Malden and Donald Wood Playground in Tolworth. Additionally, we will be upgrading a new outdoor gym in Alexandra Recreation Ground, Surbiton.
We would like to get your views on the current projects we have planned for the coming year. It’s important that you let us know what you think of our plans so we can continue to make our community parks a good space for our communities.

Our parks have been of vital importance throughout the pandemic, providing access to green space for fresh air, contemplation and exercise, benefiting both physical and mental health.
We will be carrying out face to face drop-in sessions in close proximity to each of the site locations; which will give you the opportunity to meet the project manager and contractor of the project.

Please note there is no consultation for Alexandra Recreation Ground Outdoor Gym project.
