Green Spaces
Results updated 10 Jul 2024
Last year, a new vision for our public green spaces was published, highlighting 11 areas for improvement over the next 10 years. To support this vision, we created a draft plan with actions under each theme to guide these improvements. We released a survey to gather your views on these actions, what you think we should prioritise, and if anything is missing. We're thrilled to announce that 102 residents took part. We are now reviewing everyone's feedback to gain deeper insights into the community's priorities for our green spaces. We will publish the results on the issues and areas that matter to you shortly.
Overview
Kingston’s public green spaces, including our parks, woodlands and riversides, are important for our physical and mental well-being. But not everyone who lives, works or studies in the borough has good access to a green space or is able to enjoy and benefit from them.
Last year a new vision for our public green spaces was published. It highlights 11 areas where we want to make improvements over the next 10 years. As a council we cannot achieve this on our own and will need to work in close partnership with our communities and stakeholders, to make it happen.

To support this vision we have created a draft plan which includes a list of actions, under each theme, to help us make improvements. We are keen to hear your views on these actions, what you think we should concentrate on first and if there is anything missing. We will use your feedback to update the plan and focus on the actions you think will have the most benefits.
If you have any questions, or need any of the information in a different format, please get in touch with us by emailing engagement@kingston.gov.uk or call the council's contact centre on 020 8547 5000, and ask for a member of the engagement team to call you back.
Why your views matter
We want to cherish and enhance our green spaces and ensure everyone can access and enjoy them equally to receive the health and well-being benefits.
We want to know what you think we should prioritise in our draft plan and if you have any other ideas. We will use your feedback to update the plan and decide which areas to focus on first.
What happens next
Thank you for your views. We are now reviewing the feedback we have received and will use it to update the plan. An updated plan will be shared shortly.
