Royal Borough of Kingston Lane Rental Scheme Consultation
Overview
The Royal Borough of Kingston has applied to the Department of Transport to implement a Lane Rental Scheme to reduce roadwork disruptions:
- The scheme aims to better control roadworks and street works in the most sensitive areas within the borough.
- The aim is to limit the amount of disruption by encouraging work to be done at less busy times and to finish early.
- This proposal also supports the London Mayor’s pledge to expand lane rental across London.
This scheme is being proposed in accordance with the Street Works (Charges for Occupation of the Highway) (England) Regulations 2012 (the Lane Rental Regulations) made under Section 74A of the New Road and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
